As reported by Mediaweek: The CBS Sports telecast of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship final game last night (April 7), in which Kansas defeated Memphis 75-68 in overtime, averaged a 12.8/20 rating in the metered markets, down 6 percent from last year’s Florida vs. Ohio State final, which averaged 13.6/22, according to Nielsen Media Research data. Kansas fought back from a nine-point deficit with 2:12 remaining in regulation to force overtime on a three-point shot by Mario Chalmers with just seconds left on the clock. Memphis guards Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts combined to make just one of their five attempted free throws in the final 1:12 of regulation, allowing Kansas to steal the momentum. During the overtime period, ratings received a boost, averaging a 14.7/27. Below are ratings from the last 7 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship games on CBS, as reported by Niesen Media Research.
