TNT announced today that Alonzo Mourning will join Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith in the TNT studio on Sat., April 26 at 2:30 p.m. ET to provide his insight to the 2008 NBA Playoffs. A 16-year veteran of the NBA, Mourning appeared in the NBA Playoffs 12 times including 2006 when he was a member of the NBA Champion Miami Heat. Mourning will appear on a special half-hour pre-game show and during the halftimes of the TNT doubleheader featuring Orlando @ Toronto and L.A. Lakers @ Denver.
On Thurs., May 1, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will serve as a guest analyst on TNT’s studio show throughout the entire evening of coverage, including the Inside the NBA. Wade, a four-time NBA All-Star and NBA Finals MVP, will join fellow T-Mobile pitchman Barkley along with Smith and Johnson, offering his take on the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
TNT’s coverage of the NBA Playoffs continues tonight, April 23 at 8 p.m. ET with 2008 Defensive Player of the Year Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics hosting Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks in the second game of the series. The Celtics were victorious in Game 1 of the series 104-81. Dick Stockton (play-by-play), Mike Fratello (analyst) and Cheryl Miller (reporter) will be courtside. At 10:30 p.m. ET, Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets visit Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their series. The Lakers defeated the Nuggets in Game 1 by a score of 128-114. Marv Albert (play-by-play), Reggie Miller (analyst) and Craig Sager (reporter) will call the game. The night will conclude with Inside the NBA with Johnson (host), Barkley (analyst) and Smith (analyst).
The NBA action continues on Thur., April 24 with TNT televising another doubleheader. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET as LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers try to extend their lead in the series against Antawn Jamison and the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers won Game 2 of the series 116-92. Calling the action will be Dick Stockton (play-by-play), Mike Dunleavy (analyst) and Marty Snider (reporter). The second game of the doubleheader features Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz taking on Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Jazz won Game 2 with of score of 90-84 to take a 2-0 series lead. Sitting courtside will be Harlan (play-by-play), Collins (analyst) and Sager (reporter). To finish the evening’s coverage, Johnson, Barkley and Smith will break down the action on Inside the NBA.
