NBA on TNTTNT delivered a slam dunk with its exclusive coverage of Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, the most watched and highest rated NBA game on cable this year and the second most watched telecast of the year -- trailing only ABC’s telecast of Game 7 of the Cleveland Cavaliers/Boston Celtics second round series on May 18.  The game featuring the Los Angeles Lakers @ San Antonio Spurs yielded a 4.8 US rating (5,394,000 households), a 49-percent increase over the network’s telecast of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year.

Overall, the 2008 NBA Playoffs on TNT through 40 games are up 16-percent (2.6 US) over the same period last year (2.2 US).  Additionally, the Western Conference Finals on TNT, through four games, have averaged a 4.1 US rating, a 37-percent increase over last year’s coverage (also through four games) of the Eastern Conference Finals.
